Paddle on up to five kilometres of the calm and meandering Harriet River with a variety of birds and other wildlife. Relax as you enjoy the beautiful scenery. You can choose from a Guided Kayak Tour or just hire the kayaks and make your own way up the river. Our kayaks are the latest sit on top design and come with a backrest for extra comfort.

PARNDANA MUSEUM

Telling the stories of the development of the soldier settlement scheme on Kangaroo Island in the early 1950s, the museum was established in 2001. It is based in the Returned Service’s League Hall, dedicated as a memorial to Soldier Settlement.

Seal Bay has been home to an Australian sea lion population for thousands of years, and offers one of the most exceptional nature-based experiences in the world. Australian sea lions are unique to South Australia and Western Australia. They are an endangered species – their total population is about 14,700. For the bold and inquisitive there are also adventure caving tours that take you crawling through the underground maze. The park’s coastal scenery includes Admirals Arch, a beautiful natural rock arch shaped by the powerful Southern Ocean, and the sculptured granite boulders known as Remarkable Rocks. Other attractions include wild beaches, the unspoilt Rocky River and vast wilderness. It’s a great place for families, with coffee, lunch and souvenirs available from the Chase Café.

This small, secluded bay sits along the south coast of Kangaroo Island just west of the famous Kelly Hill Conservation Park. It is accessible via West River Road, which runs south off of South Coast Road. The Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is also home to Kangaroo Island’s famous ‘Koala Walk’.

We stable a variety of Kangaroo Island Artists in the gallery both emerging and well established. The old shearing shed on the property was slowly transformed into an amazing rustic but modern Gallery space to display our works.

Parndana Hotel also takes pride in being home to the Kangaroo Island Shearing Hall of Fame, a highly respected award in the town. This includes information and pictures of those that have made the list, as well as original shears and other artifacts.

VIVONNE BAY GENERAL STORE

As well as being a general store the Vivonne Bay shop is also the home of the famous whiting burger – a fillet of King George whiting (to many regarded as the finest tasting fish in the sea) in a bun filled with salad complemented with a delicate sauce.
